American Strongmen Take on Australia

Some of the top strongman athletes in the world competed at the Gold Coast in Australia this month. Zydrunas Savickas took top honors with ASC athletes Travis Ortmayer, Van Hatfield and Andy Vincent rounding out the top four. Australian Alan Kliese finished 5th overall. ASC president Dione Wessels was on hand to oversee the action and reported that the funniest part of the weekend was watching officials at the local amusement park try to strap Big Z and Van Hatfield into the roller coaster.

LW ASC pro Justin Blake competed in Ukraine at the 105 kg World Championship winning the stone over the bar event and finishing 6th overall. Justin only had 2 weeks notice for the contest. Justin is currently preparing dor his first born child to be born during the week of the Arnold Sports Festival in March 2010. Due to this, Justin will have to decline the invitation to the Arnold Amatuer event adn the Invite will go to Jacob Bodi.

Jacob ws quoted as saying "I am extremely excited" about this opportunity!"
